Lightest subrosa bmx bike

Dive into the world of Subrosa BMX bikes, a brand synonymous with quality, innovation, and a rich history rooted in BMX culture.

In this post, we'll shed light on the lightest Subrosa BMX bikes, exploring their features and what sets them apart in the BMX world.

Whether you're a seasoned rider or a newbie, understanding the nuances of these bikes can be a game-changer.

Subrosa, derived from the term "suhb roh-zuh," signifies "under the rose."

Historically, a rose hanging overhead symbolized secrecy and brotherhood, ensuring that anything spoken beneath it remained confidential and sacred.

The Subrosa Brand was conceived in 2006 as a partnership between Ron Bonner and Ryan Sher. While Bonner brought his experience from creating brands like UGP and The Shadow Conspiracy, Sher's background was rooted in BMX, from racing to professional riding.

The brand's inception was as spontaneous as a poolside chat in California, where the idea of creating a comprehensive BMX brand emerged.

Subrosa's mission has always been to produce affordable, reliable BMX bikes and products with meticulous attention to detail.

Over the years, the brand has consistently introduced innovative products, expanding the horizons of BMX and giving back to its ardent fans and future riders.

The Subrosa Salvador Park BMX stands out for its resilience in the demanding world of park riding.

Designed for enduring long sessions, the bike minimizes maintenance time, maximizing your riding experience. Incorporating chromoly tubing boosts its strength, while the updated frame geometry, reduced stand-over height, gyro, and aftermarket parts from The Shadow Conspiracy and Rant make it a promising package.

At a surprisingly low price point, the Salvador Park offers commendable aesthetic appeal. Its street presence is impressive, guaranteeing pride in ownership. However, the real test lies in performance.

Obviously, the weight of the Salvador Park isn't going to be an issue. While it's only 10 grams lighter than number 2 on this list, it's firmly in the category of super light BMX bikes.

Subrosa built the Salvador in several different sizes for all different riders. You'll always get a good experience with this bike at the park or on the street.

Unlike the special Novus Simo 10, this bike is the same weight but with a drastically lower price.

As well as park and street riding, this bike is particularly suited to the dirt jump and pump tracks. The Rant Trill plastic padals, Petal steel 25t sprocket, sealed headset and Subrosa Sawtooth tires all help with this.

This is effectively the flagship model for Subrosa. They improve upon it every year, always keeping the weight low and full of brilliant parts.

The Malum isn't the flagship bike for Subrosa but it's probably one of the best bikes in their range.

Just like all of the other light BMX bikes from the brand, chromoly is used excessively throughout the main parts of the bike.

For the other parts, they've relied heavily on The Shadow Conspiracy and Rant. Most of the wheel setup is made from Rant parts, which are super high quality.

Although you can successfully ride this bike for any discipline, the model is geared more toward dirt jumpers and pump track riders than any other.

Subrosa Malum Dirt Specifications:

  • Frame: 100% Chromoly

This is the bike geared toward beginners on this list. Hi-tensile steel is used throughout the bike but they've created a good quality, low-weight bike despite this. Although this is definitely a beginner bike, you will still find some pretty great Shadow and Rant parts on this bike.
